Description
*** Check Out My Video Album Below! *** Styx is a delightful bundle of silliness who's ready to find his furever home! He is a Pyr mix who rocks a long, soft tan coat that gives him serious Golden Retriever vibes. Found as a stray in Tennessee, Styx has left his roaming days behind him and shows zero interest in escape artistry. He comes with a great foundation: he's housebroken, leash trained, and crate trained. He’s a medium-energy pup, who gets bursts of energy when doing things like playing fetch, but is overall a pretty mellow dude. Styx loves treats, car rides, and splashing around in the kiddie pool. He enjoys being outside with his favorite human, or inside with his human, or cuddling on the couch...with his human. - Really, anywhere with his human! Styx is a friendly people-loving pup through and through - he loves meeting new people, getting excited when people arrive but settles down quickly. This social boy also gets along great with other dogs in the yard and out in public, and even lives happily with indoor cats. He'd do just fine as an only dog or with some furry housemates. Styx would be an amazing match for a family with kids who are 12 or older who can keep up with him, and a 5-foot fenced in yard would be perfect. Really, his ideal home is with younger adults or a family with an older child living an active lifestyle - someone looking for a best bud to bring along on every adventure. Super handsome, super friendly, and a little bit goofy, Styx can’t wait to find his people! If you call or e-mail you are reducing your chances of adopting this animal as we direct our time and energy to first serving those who apply. NYS Registered Non-Profit Rescue # RR102. National Great Pyrenees Rescue (NGPR) has been rescuing and adopting out Great Pyrenees since 2006. Our relationship doesn’t end with adoption, as we continue to support adopters throughout the lifetime of their dog. Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority. We have many Pyrs and Pyr mixes who need homes.
