Meet Shoestring!Born August 8, 2024, Shoestring is a Staffy mix with a big personality, an even bigger heart, and some seriously misleading tough-guy looks. He’s basically a giant, playful cuddlebug who can go from “Who is this stranger?” to “Congratulations, you’re my new best friend” in about five minutes.Shoestring is one of those dogs who puts his whole heart into everything he does. Playing? All in. Snuggling? Absolutely. Going for a long walk? Grab the leash. Belly scratches? Please don’t stop. Peanut butter? Now you’re speaking his language. He’s also incredibly curious, eager to please, treat motivated, and apparently a fan of television — especially when there are other dogs on the screen.He loves people and warms up quickly to new friends once he has a chance to meet them in his own space. Shoestring would likely do well with children, but he’s a strong, energetic boy who sometimes forgets just how big and powerful he is when playtime gets exciting. A family comfortable with an enthusiastic dog would be a great fit.Shoestring has successfully gotten along with some dogs, but because he has a LOT of energy, introductions to potential canine siblings should be thoughtful and appropriate. He can sometimes misunderstand another dog’s correction during play, so continued guidance and training will help him learn better dog-to-dog manners.Cats, however, are a no for Shoestring. They are simply far too tempting to chase, so he needs a cat-free home.The practical stuff? Shoestring is both house trained and kennel trained. He’s eager to please, loves treats, and has plenty of enthusiasm for learning — especially when snacks are involved.A few things Shoestring could happily live without: fireworks, thunderstorms, and baths. He’ll cooperate for a bath, but his strategy is apparently to sit very still and wait for the entire unfortunate situation to be over.What Shoestring is really looking for is a family who appreciates a dog with a big personality, plenty of energy, an even bigger capacity for affection, and a slightly misleading tough-guy exterior. Give him a few minutes to decide you’re okay, and chances are you’ll have a new best friend who is ready to play, explore, walk, cuddle, and supervise your television choices.  The suggested adoption fee for Shoestring is $365.   Bullies-N-Beyond is a 501(c)3, non-profit corporation that is 100% volunteer operated. Adoption donation fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. All dogs adopted through BNBR will have been administered their age appropriate vaccines which may include DHPP, Rabies, Lepto and Bordetella. All dogs will also be adopted out as already altered if of age; this for those not of age, a voucher will be provided. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. BNBR does not adopt on a first serve basis. All available dogs are adopted based on the needs of the dog since we want to provide a home with the best fit !
