Description

Sentinel is a young, goofy, happy guy who is about a year old and ready to find his forever family! He is a really good dog with a sweet nature, and his silly personality is sure to keep you smiling.Sentinel is potty trained, listens well, and gets along with both dogs and kids. He loves being with his people and would happily spend his entire day by your side. He enjoys walks, car rides, playing with other dogs, and zooming around the yard. He occasionally enjoys a good toy session, but food is definitely high on his list of favorite things! Some of Sentinel's favorite things: Playing with other dogs‍ Going for walks Food and treats — he is convinced he is starving!‍ Zooming around the yard Car rides Being with his peopleSentinel does struggle with separation anxiety and does not do well when left alone. He can break out of a crate when he is by himself, so his new family will need to be prepared to work with him on feeling comfortable and secure when separated from his people. Interestingly, he happily sleeps in his crate at night when it is in the bedroom and will even go into his crate on his own when it's time to eat or when he thinks someone might have food! Sentinel would do best in a home where someone is home often and is willing to patiently work with him on his separation anxiety. He will also need continued training on things like counter surfing and getting into the garbage. He is young, big, and still learning, so structure, consistency, and positive reinforcement will be important.Sentinel does shed and will need regular brushing to keep his coat looking and feeling its best. This sweet boy may have a few things to work on, but underneath it all is a loving, goofy dog who simply wants to be with his people. If you’re looking for a fun companion who will happily join you for walks, car rides, backyard zoomies, and just about anything else, Sentinel could be your guy! Stop by our weekly adoption events on Saturdays from 11-3 pm at 372 Townline Road in Mundelein, IL 60060 to meet our adoptable animals in person. Follow us on Facebook for additional updates and sneak peeks of new dogs!  https://www.facebook.com/reachrescue
