Description

Princess Daisy has been an amazing foster—sweet, patient, friendly, and full of love. She adores children and has been incredibly gentle even when my kids climb and play all over her. She gets excited every time they wake up or come home. Daisy plays well with other dogs, though she can be a bit submissive. She’s pictured with her foster friend Luna, and the two of them play nonstop when they’re together. She generally does well with other dogs, though she and Luna showed some leash reactivity toward a neighbor’s dog, which seems related to all three being leashed. On her own, we haven’t seen any leash issues. Overall, she’s sweet, kind, and still building confidence.Daisy has plenty of energy—when she’s not playing with another dog, she keeps herself busy hunting lizards or chewing through dog toys. She’s still learning not to chew on kids’ toys or shoes; so far we’ve only had one damaged shoe and a few kid toys. When she’s ready to relax, she becomes a total snugglebug and loves lying across your lap like a true lap dog. She’s been great with people of all ages and genders. She does show submissive urination when meeting new people or dogs, but this goes away after a few visits once she feels secure.Daisy is very smart and learning quickly. She picked up “come” fast, though she can be distracted by people, dogs, or distance. She can “sit” about 75% of the time. She’s also learning “place,” where she goes to her bed and waits. She still needs guidance from a distance, but once there, she stays well until released. She’s hesitant to go into her crate, but will enter for a treat or when guided. She stays quiet once inside. She still needs work on leash skills, but the hot weather has limited training opportunities. She’s very food-motivated and does great in the car.
