Description

Princess is a beautiful 1-year-old Doberman with a joyful spirit and an infectious zest for life. True to her age, she's curious, energetic, and always ready for her next adventure. Whether she's exploring new scents, going for a car ride, or racing around the yard with a canine friend, Princess lives every day to the fullest. Princess is currently recovering from heartworm treatment and is eagerly counting down the days until she's cleared to run, play, and explore without restrictions. Despite her temporary limitations, she remains a happy, affectionate girl who loves spending time with her people. This sweet girl is social and friendly with both people and other dogs. She especially enjoys finding one dog buddy to race around the yard with, happily making lap after lap until it's finally time to relax in the sunshine. Once she's burned off some energy, Princess has a wonderful "off switch" and is content to settle down in her crate for a well-earned nap. Princess is a big fan of treats, chewy bones, pup cups, and mealtime—and she isn't shy about reminding you if she thinks it's snack time! She may even toss her food bowl around to drop a not-so-subtle hint. Because she's still very much a puppy at heart, she should be supervised with soft toys and blankets, as she enjoys chewing on them. She's crate trained and does well when left alone, especially with a sturdy chew toy to keep her occupied. Like many young Dobermans, Princess can occasionally let her puppy curiosity get the best of her, so she benefits from structure and supervision while she continues to mature. Her foster has found she does very well with the "umbilical method," allowing her freedom while keeping her close for guidance. And when you come home? Expect a very enthusiastic welcome! Princess is an excellent travel companion and absolutely loves car rides. She happily hops in, enjoys the scenery, politely asks for a few pets (and maybe a snack), and is always ready for the next destination. She also enjoys leisurely walks, exploring new places with her nose, and has shown an impressive aptitude for scent work. She's already learning her basic manners and knows sit, down, and scooch up, while continuing to work on heel and focus exercises. Princess is eager to learn and enjoys working with her people. Although her behavior around cats was initially unknown, Princess has done very well with cats, horses, goats, poultry, and even cows. She may bark occasionally out of curiosity, but she's generally respectful and will even back away if a cat lets her know they've had enough. A securely fenced yard is recommended, giving her a safe place to run and burn off her energy once she's fully recovered. Around her foster home, Princess has earned the affectionate nickname "Fiasco" because her puppy impulses occasionally get the better of her. It's all part of her charm! She's goofy, entertaining, and keeps everyone laughing with her playful antics. Princess is looking for a family ready to embrace all the fun, energy, and love that comes with a young Doberman. With continued training, plenty of adventures, and lots of affection, this sweet girl is going to make an incredible lifelong companion. This fabulous foster is a Doberman Rescue Minnesota foster dog.
