The Best Parts of Lucius Are Just Starting to ShowMeet Lucius—A Shy Boy Who's Learning to Shine Lucius is a sweet, gentle boy who has been quietly working on finding his confidence—and the progress has been wonderful to watch. Volunteers have spent time helping him feel safe, and little by little, we're getting glimpses of the playful, affectionate dog underneath that shy exterior.He's a gentle walker on leash, but his favorite discoveries are happening in the yard. Just recently, Lucius surprised us by rolling over for belly rubs and bouncing around with adorable play bows! Who knew this quiet boy had a playful side hiding in there?Once he feels comfortable, Lucius loves affection and is beginning to show just how much he enjoys being with his people. He'll do best with a patient adopter who can give him time to decompress, ideally in a quieter home with someone familiar with his breed and its needs.Lucius doesn't need someone to rush him—he needs someone willing to let him blossom. And if his recent belly-up, play-bow performance is any indication, there's a whole lot more personality waiting to come out!This guy recently met some social dogs at our shelter and seemed uncomfortable.  He wasn’t ready to play, but we hope that as he gets more experience in our shelter playgroups, he’ll be ready to show us his silly side with other dogs.  Looking for a buddy for your dog?  Bring him/her to the shelter for a meet and greet and see if we're a match!  Check out his playgroup video here:To meet me, visit the Bradshaw Animal Shelter Tuesday-Sunday, Noon - 5:00 pm, Wednesdays, Noon - 6:00 pm. All adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis. To help expedite the meet and greet process, please make note of my Animal ID number, and those of other dogs you might be interested in meeting. Be sure to bring your ID with you, too.
