General info
Description
Knox recently left the shelter and went to a foster home. He's young, and inexperienced, but with support from his foster, he's learning everything a great dog needs to know to be successful in a fur-ever home! Here's what foster mom has to say so far: Knox has been in foster for a few days now, and he is learning a lot. He is already doing better with his enthusiastic greetings. We are working on it every day, and I would say he is about 40% better already. He is showing some fear of men, but there are two men in the foster home, so they have been playing with him and spending time with him to help him gain confidence around men. Slowly, Knox is starting to copy the other dogs in the home. He is even beginning to play a little with toys, which is great to see. He is no longer afraid of the car and now jumps right in.He's working on potty training and leash walking. He's such a smart boy, we're sure he'll be a quick study on both. He already knows how to `sit` and `lay down.`He is not very food-motivated, but the foster is starting to work on training with him. It looks like his previous owner played tug-of-war with him because he is very good at it. The foster is working on âdrop itâ because he needs to learn some self-control. He is picking up the concept very quickly.Overall, Knox is off to a great start in foster care. If you love Belgian Malinois and are looking for a new furry family member, give us a call to schedule an appointment to meet with Knox:831-769-8873I will continue working with him mostly on life skills. Obedience with these dogs is easy, but teaching them how to be easy to live with is a completely different story. That is where the real work is. ??
