Description

Meet Kahlua, a 2-year old Labrador Retriever / Staffordshire mix around 40 pounds. She is incredibly shy, but also very sweet! She has a petite, strong and nimble body. Her coat is short, is a lovely shade of coffee with cream, and she has a matching white chest and paws. She was saved from the streets of Alabama with a severely embedded collar from neglect. The community came together to catch her and get her to Hudson Paws, we all worked together to save her life. Because of her traumatic past, she has a very hard time trusting people. She has really opened up and is finding her place here and gaining confidence. She loves running in the yard and playing with her dog pals. She loves male dogs and REALLY comes out of her shell with puppies! Her mama instincts kick in and she enjoys playing with them and loving on them. She enjoys her loose leash walks and chilling on the dog bed in the office. Once she is comfortable she fully relaxes. * Kahlua’s person must have experience with complicated rescue dogs who have trauma from their past. She is extremely fearful of people. Even after months of being with us, she is still cautious. She is very selective about dogs she likes (much better with males). She needs an experienced dog handler willing to give her a lot of time and patience. A quiet home environment with not a lot of people coming and going will be best for her.The Labrador Retriever is a sweet-faced, lovable, adoring, outgoing, and high-spirited companion. Their eyes glimmer with kindliness and their tail seems to be forever signaling the breed's innate eagerness.Staffordshire Terrier are full of courage and tenacity, agility and strength. These are true-blue loyal companions, but it is vital that the pups be socialized with other dogs to learn good canine manners. Staffords do not stand particularly tall but they pour a gallon of dog into a quart-size container.Could Kahlua be your perfect match?Apply to adopt today! https://www.hudsonpaws.org/kahlua
