Annie's journey hasn't been easy, but we're determined to help her write a much happier next chapter. AFH was asked to help Annie, a Beagle who was believed to be pregnant after her elderly owner passed away, leaving her and eight other dogs without a home. We also learned that the dogs had spent their entire lives living outdoors. When Annie arrived, our veterinarian discovered she was not pregnant, but she was in urgent need of medical care. She was covered in fleas and ticks, had intestinal worms, multiple bacterial infections, severely infected ears, and dental disease requiring treatment. Additional testing revealed that Annie has an enlarged liver, anemia, and chronic kidney disease. AFH is committed to giving Annie every chance at a healthy, happy future. We are treating all of her medical conditions, and her veterinary care has already exceeded $1,500, with additional treatment still needed. Despite everything she has endured, Annie deserves the opportunity to know the comfort, safety, and love of a forever home.
