Description

SWEET, SMART & FUN:  Approx. 5 years old / Approx. 42 lbs. Hello—I’m Adina! I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control, and I am so happy to be soaking up all the love from the volunteers. Now I'm ready to find a wonderful home of my own with a family to love and be loved by! I came in heartworm positive, but I've been treated for it and am getting back to my regular exercise routine. I was selected to participate in the Mostly Mutts Prison Pups immersive training experience and learned a lot! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I met other dogs in the prison/foster training program, and I liked playing with them. If you have a nice doggie at home already, let’s meet and see if we can be pals. / Cats unknown. / I met two nice boys around 6 years old at Mostly Mutts and did well with them, so a home with kids ages 10 and up could be a good fit for me. Let’s meet!  • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: The volunteers describe me as friendly, active, fun, and super sweet. I’m a delightful dog who enjoys being close to people—I even crawled right into a lap while sitting outside on a rock! I was very tolerant during my bath and ear cleaning, even resting my head on a towel during my rinse and towel-off. I’m a sweet, calm soul with a bit of an energetic side, too, and I may sometimes bark when I see people or other dogs while out on walks. I can be a little shy when first meeting new people, but I’m continuing to build my confidence with my trainer where I’m learning to navigate new people. I’m making great progress every day! I got to visit a foster home for 5 days and my foster said this about me: “this girl is so sweet, smart, and friendly. I’m not sure which she enjoys more—her walks or naps.” / Energy level: 8-10.  • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I’m a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts Prison Pups immersive training experience so I’ve learned the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘down’, ‘come’, ‘drop it’, ‘leave it’ and ‘place’ commands. I also use proper door etiquette and have good leash manners as well as accept nice strangers without jumping. My temp. foster said I got excited with them at first and pulled a bit on my leash and got a little jumpy/mouthy when excited, but listened well and knew my commands so I may just need a little adjustment period to do my best. Let's continue my training together with the free lifetime training classes that Mostly Mutts offers for all their adopted dogs. / I’m doing well in my crate at Mostly Mutts. I knew the routine well in the off-site foster training program, so I put myself to bed in the evenings after some snuggles when my trainer was winding down. I  slept in my crate with the door open. I also did well in my crate in a temp. foster home. / My potty habits were good in the off-site training program so hopefully that will be the case in my new home, too! I had a couple of accidents in a temp. foster home when I first got there, but they took me out a little more quickly after meals and then I did well. • LIKES/DISLIKES: I enjoy spending time with the nice volunteers and learning new things through training—I’m a smart girl who likes to stay engaged. I like toys a lot, but the stuffed ones don’t stay stuffed long, so let’s stick with the hard Nylabone type. I also like going for car rides. I’m sure once I’m settled in my new home, we’ll discover so many more things to enjoy together! / I’ve been nervous of fast movements, loud noises and larger groups of people, lawn mowers, fans and thresholds (like a doorway), but I’m working with my trainer on this. Other than that, like all dogs, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL: I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. Since I wasn't kept on heartworm prevention in my previous home, I came to Mostly Mutts HW positive. Thankfully, I’ve been treated for it and have completed my rest period. I will have my heartworm re-check in November 2026, so local adoption is best. I have moderate tartar on my teeth, so my adoptive family should consult with their vet and consider a dental cleaning in the future.  I’m a wonderful dog looking for a wonderful family to love and be loved by. My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.
