TOM NEEDS A FOREVER HOME! Name: Tom Best Guess for Breed: Domestic Short Hair Age: 1 year as of 5/11/26 Estimated DOB: 5/7/25 SEX: Male Approximate Weight: 8.4 lbs as of 5/11/26 Coloring: Orange and White Type of Hair: Short Gets Along With: With proper introductions, Tom will likely get along with other cats, dogs and kids with an acclimation period. We’re happy to help with tips and tricks! Currently Living at: Foster home in the DC area! I am Looking For: My loving forever family! Hi! I'm Tom, and I am a great kitty! I won’t ask for much- just some love, cuddles and lots of toys so I can run and play and be myself. What my Foster Says About Me: Tom is a very sweet, loving guy who absolutely loves his people. He comes when you call him, purrs and rubs all over you, and is always happy to get some attention. He’s a big cuddle bug and loves sleeping with his person at night. Tom is definitely a talker and will let you know when he has something to say. He really likes being around people and wants to know what’s going on. He’s the kind of cat who will follow you around and keep you company wherever you go. Once Tom bonds with you, he really is your little shadow. He’s affectionate, funny, and just a great cat. Tom would love to find a person of his own who will appreciate all of his love, cuddles, and conversations. 8/19 (new foster): Tom is such a sweet boy, and continues to charm us. He is growing more and more confident and expressive chasing toys and stopping for pets, giving head bumps and nuzzles, crawling right beside us and occasionally putting a paw on our lap before withdrawing it. He let me pick him up very briefly but quickly squirmed to get away. I still think he will come around to being a lap cat and maybe to being held, but he’s not ready yet. Tom is still exploring his surroundings and likes to take his time. He would appreciate a forever family who understood that he needs to take things at his own pace in order to blossom into the loving cat he is.
