Fun energetic young cat. Needs placement help due to longer stay in shelter.mk**08/20/26 10:00 MEDICAL UPDATE**Tiger is a young adult female cat who came into the shelter 6/9/26 underweight with severe chronic diarrhea; diarrhea has clinically resolved and Tiger is now a very healthy weight. Tiger has been noted to intermittently panting at rest and sometimes at play. She has no heart murmur and no abnormal lung sounds on exam, and her heart rhythym is normal. Chest x-rays were taken, and submitted for radiologist review, which revealed an enlarged cardiac silhouette (enlarged heart) but normal lung tissue and no evidence of heart failure. Her liver is also slightly enlarged on x-ray, which could normal for age of the patient or due to mild liver enlargement (from metabolic, endocrine or cardiovascular disease). The enlarged heart should not explain the intermittent panting, as she does not have any fluid in her lungs (heart failure). Her bloodwork shows midl anemia (unknown etiology), liver enzyme elevation, which should be rechecked within a month of this bloodwork (9/15) to determine clinical significance. Her gums remain nice and pink and she acts clinically normal (bright, alert, playful, eating well, healthy stools). Tiger is in need of urgent rescue who can follow up with a local vet cardiologist to see if her cardiomegaly on xray is indicative of underlying heart valve disease (congenital or otherwise) and who can follow up with a general practitioner to monitor her liver values. If her liver values worsen, and ESPECIALLY if she becomes clinical for liver disease (vomiting, anorexic, weight loss, jaundiced, diarrhea, belly pain) she may need belly ultrasound or further infectious disease blood testing. At this time Tiger is acting happy and healthy.IN NEED OF URGENT RESCUE
