Meet Sooty! His name might make you think of soot from a chimney—and yes, he's about the same color—but we promise he doesn't come with the mess... or the smell! This handsome senior gentleman is all dressed in a sleek black coat, complete with an extra set of adorable "thumbs" thanks to being polydactyl. Those oversized paws only add to his charm! Sooty spent his life in a home with many other cats, so he's no stranger to sharing his space. Friendly is the best word to describe him. He's happy to spend time with people, enjoys a good brushing session, and is always appreciative of a few extra pets and scratches. Sadly, Sooty found himself at the shelter because his owners reached a point where they could no longer care for him. It's never easy to say goodbye to the only home you've known, but Sooty is taking it all in stride and is ready to find a family to call his own once again. He's even met a friend's dog before and did just fine! They may not have become best buddies, but Sooty has shown he can comfortably share a home with a respectful canine companion.
