Like her brother Cal, Portia has been returned twice, and not because of anything she did wrong. She and her brother have simply had an incredibly unfair run of bad luck with people who weren’t able to make the lifetime commitment they deserved. Her first adoption ended after a major health scare with Cal made it clear that her adopter wasn’t able to provide the care they needed. The second adopter promised it would be forever — but a new job and a new boyfriend apparently changed the equation. And once again, Portia and her brother were the ones left behind. None of this is their fault. They deserve a family who understands that adopting a cat means committing to them through all of life’s changes — not just when it’s convenient. Portia is a calico through and through: she’s got opinions, she’s got personality, and she’s absolutely not afraid to let you know what she thinks. But underneath that sassy little exterior is an incredibly sweet, affectionate girl who loves her people and has so much love to give. She came from a LARGE brood, raised by an amazing mama named Meadow, who took such good care of her babies and raised them to be the very best kittens around. Portia loves to play, enjoys being part of the action, and is an all-around fun, loving companion. She’s sassy but SWEET, playful but affectionate, and full of personality — exactly what you want in a calico girl. ❤️ After being let down twice, Portia deserves a home that will finally show her what forever actually means.
