Description

Bug is a soft, snuggly sweetheart who adores her humans. She's so loving that she quickly earned the nicknames Cuddle Bug and Love Bug. At 5 years-old and 45 pounds, this Staffordshire Bull Terrier starts her day by greeting you with snuggles and then moving on to the next person to let them have a turn.Bug is a great roommate — she’s house-trained and crate-trained and treats her kennel as a safe space. She adjusted quickly to her new foster home and its routines. She's happiest when keeping you company through your daily routine. Bug will do best with humans who are home often.Bug is protective and shows some reactive behaviors, so she’s working with a professional trainer and her foster family to address those issues. In the meantime, she cannot live in a home with other dogs, cats, or young children. Bug has successfully lived with older children (10+) in the past.TRAINING UPDATE: Bug is a terrific student! She is smart, eager to please, and very responsive to food rewards. Bug has learned how to walk beautifully on a leash as well as commands such as sit and stay. As her confidence grows, she’s becoming less fearful and thus less reactive. She clearly enjoys learning new skills, as well as the extra praise and treats doled out during training sessions! Don’t let her short legs fool you — she’s fast, agile, and lives for a good game of fetch. She will require a home that has a yard (even a small one with a low fence) where she can burn off energy in short bursts. At the end of the day, she's happy to play with her favorite rubber ball that she chews like a piece of gum and watch nighttime TV, or as she sees it, uninterrupted petting time. She’s incredibly expressive, leans into every pet, and even smiles when she’s especially content. Her bark might surprise you — it’s deep and protective — but it only comes out when she’s alerting you to something unusual. If you're looking for a loyal sidekick, a cuddle bug, and a low-rider athlete with a gummy ball and a smile, Bug might just be your perfect match. If you are interested in Bug, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $450.
