Motley is a young adult with medium-length tabby and white fur and a fluffy tail.She showed up in a neighborhood, eating off porches and fending for herself, and had to be trapped to come in. She wasn’t aggressive then and she isn’t now – but she is honest about her boundaries. Reaching toward her will get you a hiss. Finding her in the cat tree when you walk in the room is pretty standard. She’s not interested in swatting or causing trouble; she’d just rather be left alone until she decides otherwise.And she does decide otherwise, sometimes. Once she’s been caught and is actually being petted, she tolerates it and may even lean into it a little. She’s made tentative peace with a couple of the people who work with her regularly. She has not made peace with the person who had to medicate her every day, and honestly that’s fair.Motley needs a calm, quiet home with people who won’t take it personally when she hides, won’t push her to come around faster than she’s ready to, and understand that earning her trust is a slow process that she controls.
