Description

Redford — Big Jowls, Bigger Personality, and a Whole Lot of Opinions Hi. I’m Redford.Yes, those jowls are mine. Impressive, right? I like to think of them as architectural masterpieces… with attitude. I was rescued from the streets of San Francisco, where I lived my life as a true tomcat — independent, street-smart, and absolutely convinced I was in charge of everything. (Spoiler: not much has changed.) When I first came inside, I took my time. About a week of staying tucked away, a few more weeks to really settle in. I like to observe. Evaluate. Make sure everything meets my standards. But once I’m in? I’m in. These days, I’m a full-on lap cat. Sit down, and I will claim you — no exceptions. I’ve even been known to join my humans in bed at night, which, as you can imagine, is a high honor. I also follow my foster family around the house like a little orange shadow. Kitchen? I’m there. Bathroom? Obviously. Couch? Already waiting for you. For a former street tomcat, I’ve become surprisingly invested in togetherness. And when I settle in on your lap? I get to work. I’m a deeply committed biscuit maker — full-force, emotional, truly dedicated kneading. It’s intense. It’s beautiful. It means I feel safe. I’ve had quite the glow-up, too. My orange coat is rich and vibrant, my tabby stripes are bold, and my white bib sits just right — like I’m dressed for dinner at all times. And my fur? Surprisingly soft. A far cry from my street days. I’m also very vocal. My meow is a little raspy, a little crusty — full of character — and I use it to discuss important matters. Mostly food. I care deeply about food. Every trip to the pantry is a shared experience, as far as I’m concerned. (Don’t worry — I’m still a gentleman in the mornings. No 5am wake-up calls.) Toys? I have opinions. Sometimes I’ll engage. Sometimes I have more important things to think about. I’m a complex individual. What I do wholeheartedly endorse: laps, sun naps, being picked up, enthusiastic biscuit-making, following my humans around the house, and long conversations about dinner. I may take a little time to settle into a new environment, but once I feel safe, I become deeply affectionate and devoted to my people. The best things in life are worth earning — and I happen to be one of them. I could be happy as your one and only, or with the right feline friend who respects my boundaries and appreciates a strong personality like mine. Concerned about me being FIV+? Don’t be—there’s lots of helpful information out there to put your mind at ease. I can live a long, healthy life, meow. If you’d like to learn more, here’s a great resource from Cornell University.
