We've been calling them Bagel and Cream Cheese, but, honestly, they'll respond to anything you call them with a fun voice ("babies!" Or "friends!" Are definitely favorites). They both come running to meet us whenever we come into their room and will cry to be picked up and held for a bit before they start wrestling and chasing each other again. They love being around people and are brave little dudes- on their second weekend with us, they hung out with seven of our friends that came over for a premier league soccer match and weren't even fazed by the cheering and loud noises. They both worked the room like pros- moving from lap to lap and meeting strangers like political candidates who needed to win a vote. When given the opportunity to explore the whole house, they prefer to be wherever we are. Both of them have adjusted to our giant (115 pound) dog and our other cats, even though one of them is a bit standoffish. They're perfect gentlemen with their litter box (open or enclosed) and eating kibble or canned food. They're attached to each other, but still want a lot of human snuggle and attention time. Cream Cheese is the snuggler who would prefer to take his naps on you or up against you. He enjoys exploring the house and is incredibly entertaining. When he finds something he really loves (a toy, a treat, a sock, a random piece of fuzz), he loves to run around with it in his mouth and growl when his brother gets too close. He's also happy to sprawl across the middle of the floor and just chill while the world goes around him. He isn't affected by much and is probably the chillest kitten we've fostered (and we've had a number of them) Bagel is an "independent" dude that just so happens to like hanging out near you all the time (entirely by coincidence, of course). He loves to check in with you in the middle of playing and has a very loud purr for such a little guy. He has a tough front with a straight up and bushy tail when encountering something new, but is really a big softie. He can be a bit of a drama king with an over-the-top yell or little hiss- while snuggling deeper against you. He's opinionated- but his opinion is that you're the best thing he's ever seen. Both of these guys would be great in any household that wants to have a true companion. They want to be around you, they want to meet your friends, and they want to be part of your daily life. They've done well with other cats, dogs, and strangers. While they haven't met kids yet, they should be just fine with respectful family members of any age. Both like to be held and handled, eat kibble free food without issue, and are happy to only scratch appropriately if given scratching posts or a cat tree. The only family they won't blend well with is one that doesn't actually want a new member. We are committed to placing our rescued animals with families who are prepared for the responsibility of owning an animal for its entire lifetime, so that they are never again at the mercy of the shelter system.
