Description
TOBBY NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Tobby Best Guess for Breed: Chihuahua and terrier mix Best Guess for Age: 3.5 years as of May 2026 SEX: Male Approximate Weight: 24 lbs Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen him with cats but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters! Currently Living at: DC area foster home Special adoption considerations: Dogs from Puerto Rico have a major transition to go through when they arrive and will need humans who are very committed to socialization. We think this pup would do best with either a resident dog or a family who can make sure they can go on walks regularly with other dogs, visit the dog park, or go to doggie daycare to learn the ropes. Tobby would do best in a home without children. Tobby is Looking For: Tobby is a sato - a dog from Puerto Rico. He's eager to get his own forever family in the DC area and explore his new surroundings. Long sniffy walks, romps in parks, all the adventures his new humans can dream up - yes, please! Making pup pals along the way is high on his wish list, as are quality kibble and a cushy dog bed. But you know what he wants most of all? To be safe and loved, to know where he belongs. In exchange he promises all the adoring gazes he is storing up and loyal companionship for all his days. What do you say? Is Tobby the one you see by your side? What My Foster Says About Me: Tobby is a sweet guy with the shortest legs and the biggest heart. He was found wandering along a busy highway in Puerto Rico. He immediately allowed his rescuer to pick him up and bring him to safety. He lived in her home for a month where she had really wonderful things to say about what a good dog he is. After his long trip from Puerto Rico to the DMV he is ready to find his forever home! He loves affection, cuddles, belly rubs, and lots of love. He wants to be close to his people and has been a calm, sweet presence. He has gotten along great with the small senior dogs in his foster home and hasn’t had any accidents in the house. He likes going for walks and does well on his leash. Tobby may need a little time to adjust to new people and strange environments. But after only one day in his foster parent’s home, he was snuggling up to everyone, asking for more pets, and sleeping happily with his stubby legs in the air. Toby is looking for a forever family with patience, gentleness, and lots of love. Give him that, and he’ll reward you ten fold with gratitude and love. You can see more pictures and videos of him on his Foster’s instagram https://www.instagram.com/helping_ryes_cousins Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.
