Winston came to us when his owner entered a nursing home, and the family didn’t want him. They gave him to someone who knew we did rescue, and they decided to turn him over to us to find him his last forever home. He may be almost 13 years old, but he doesn’t act it! While he may not run a marathon, he still can hang with another adult small dog. He would really enjoy having a home with a nice fenced yard, and someone he can follow around all day and sleep with at night. Are you that person? Lonely? Well, Winston is here to help you get over that. He’s ready and willing to grace your home with himself. He will also be your bodyguard, protecting you from strangers and things that go bump in the night. So, when a stranger comes to your door, proper introductions are needed. Once he knows they are a friend, then he’ll be fine. But don’t let that stop you from having the “bestest” friend you’ll ever have. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund’s back or get bitten. If you have questions about this dog, please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed on the bio form.  They have the most up-to-date information concerning the dog and would be happy to answer any questions about the animal.  We cannot adopt into CT, RI, NH, ME, or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states.  If you have any issue with this, you will need to take this up with your legislatures.
