WATCH MY VIDEO...Esme's story breaks our hearts a little.This beautiful 6-year-old brown tiger kitty was surrendered to our shelter with very little information about her past. We don't know what her life was like before she arrived, but from the moment she came through our doors, it was clear that this sweet girl was craving two simple things: food and affection. When staff spent time with Esme, she eagerly devoured treats. Despite everything, Esme remains incredibly loving. She absolutely adores being petted and seems to soak up every bit of attention she's given. As gentle hands stroke her soft fur, she relaxes and leans into the affection, as if she's been waiting a long time for someone to show her kindness. Esme allowed herself to be picked up easily, but she politely let us know that being held isn't her favorite thing. Instead, she preferred returning to the comfort and security of her little room. It's a reminder that while she enjoys love and companionship, she may need a little time to feel fully safe and settled again. What stands out most about Esme is her resilience. Whatever challenges she may have faced, she hasn't let them take away her sweet nature. She still trusts people. She still seeks affection. She still hopes. Now what Esme needs is a family willing to give her the things every cat deserves: a full bowl, a soft bed, gentle affection, and the security of knowing she'll never have to wonder where her next meal or kind touch will come from.
