Description

Joey is the kind of puppy who believes there is no such thing as too much affection. If he had his way, he'd spend most of the day soaking up attention, giving kisses, and making sure everyone around him knows they're his new best friend.Friendly, affectionate, and endlessly curious, Joey approaches life with his nose first. On walks, he loves stopping to investigate every interesting sight, smell, and sound along the way. Around the house, he'll happily inspect whatever you're doing—including what's on the countertop if he can sneak a peek.Joey absolutely adores people. He recently met children at the park and was thrilled to receive attention from them, happily soaking up every bit of affection while watching them play. His love of humans extends to pretty much everyone he meets. When it comes to playtime, Joey is a toy enthusiast. Plush toys, chew toys, balls—if it comes out of the toy basket, he's interested. He gets along well with the other dogs in his foster home and especially enjoys playing with puppies or smaller dogs. Rough play with larger dogs can be a little intimidating for him, but he's friendly and social with canine companions.Joey is still a puppy and occasionally gets so excited that he jumps up to greet people, but he's already working on learning better manners. With his affectionate nature, handsome coat, and eagerness to be part of the family, Joey is already an amazing companion and is only going to get better as he grows. They were rescued from a high kill shelter in Texas.Meet and greets are by appointment only.  An approved application is required to schedule a meeting. Check out our events page for upcoming open adoption events! We have no additional back story or update for this dog at this time.  When we do, it will be updated here.  This is all the information we have currently. Approved Applicants may make the adoption fee payment by clicking donate above.  Partial adoption fees will not hold a dog. If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded. Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free pet insurance.  We are not affiliated with MetLife pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect).  Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets. The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico.  While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances.   More questions?  Read our FAQs here: https://4p4l.org/faqs/  Breed labels are a "best guess" by a shelter veterinarian and cannot be guaranteed.
