Description
Meet Sassy, a 42-pound professional cuddle bug disguised as a dog. At just 1-2 years old, this beautiful girl is searching for her forever person—and preferably their lap, too. Our best guess is she is a Carolina dog mix.Despite being medium-sized, Sassy is absolutely convinced she’s a tiny dog. Once she decides you’re her person, you’ll never walk alone again. Bathroom trip? She’s coming. Folding laundry? She’s supervising. Watching TV? She’s already curled up beside you. Sassy is the definition of a “shadow dog” and takes her job of loving you very seriously. The funniest part? Her name couldn’t be more wrong. There is absolutely nothing sassy about Sassy. She is sweet, gentle, polite, and easy going.Sassy can be shy when meeting new people, but her love language is treats, gentle pets, and patience. Give her a few minutes to realize you’re nice, and she’ll reward you with a lifetime of hugs, kisses, happy wiggles, and unconditional devotion. She has the kind of soul that makes everyone fall in love with her. She’s wonderful with dogs of all sizes and personalities, though she appreciates a polite introduction—especially with larger, enthusiastic dogs. She also gets along beautifully with cats. While she’d be happy with a canine companion, she’d be just as content being your one-and-only because, honestly, human attention is her favorite thing in the world.Sassy is incredibly well-mannered. She has never had an accident in her foster home and has never chewed anything she wasn’t supposed to. She’d much rather spend her time curled up at your feet, stretched out on the couch, or soaking up sunshine. Outside, her playful side comes out. She gets the cutest zoomies, bounces around like a little deer, and enjoys exploring the yard. Because she can clear shorter fences and is still gaining confidence on walks, she’ll need a securely fenced yard with a 6-foot fence. Loud noises can still startle her, but she’s making progress every day.Sassy is good with kids, but because she’s a sensitive soul, she’d do best with older children who understand that she likes to take things at her own pace. The most amazing thing about Sassy is how easy she is to love. Despite whatever hardships she experienced before rescue, she remains one of the gentlest, most forgiving, and sweetest dogs you’ll ever meet. The only clue that she had a difficult past is her initial shyness. Once she trusts you, you’ll discover a loyal best friend who thinks the sun rises and sets with you.If you’ve been searching for that once-in-a-lifetime dog—the one who will follow you from room to room, rest her head in your lap, make you laugh with her goofy zoomies, and love you with her whole heart—Sassy is waiting.
